For the past decade, while navigating both the academic and corporate worlds, we have conducted extensive research and experimentation, gaining striking, science-backed insights:

  • In that perspective, happiness is not just about emotions but should be considered as an ability—a fully-fledged ability to be managed in a rational way to then unlock the experience of lasting positive emotions. Thus, at HELFFE, we define happiness as the ability to sustain positive emotions over time by effectively managing your resources in alignment with chosen and specific objectives.

It is all about Passion Ambition Innovation

Over a decade ago, in a charming corner of Montpellier Business School (France), destiny intertwined the paths of two individuals: Dr. Rajaa and Dr. Marouane. Little did they anticipate that their serendipitous meeting during their Masters in Consulting & Change Management would spark a long and transformative journey together.

Across all the diverse courses taken during this Masters, whether in Marketing, Finance, or Human Resources, one common element was repeatedly highlighted. ‘Innovation is one of the most important factors to boost and sustain growth at all levels. Mastering innovation management is game-changing as it helps to continuously enhance individual and organizational performance.’

Furthermore, they observed the validity of this academic insight in their various professional experiences within successful organizations, including DELL EMC and EDF Group, the second-largest energy producer globally.

So, Dr. Rajaa and Dr. Marouane made the decision to deepen their knowledge and expertise by pursuing a Ph.D. in innovation management at the University of Montpellier (France). Following the completion of their Ph.D. and a decade of academic experience as professors in prestigious universities, they drew three main conclusions from their extensive scientific and practical research.

1) Being innovative is indeed a key driver of performance and growth for individuals of all ages, occupations, and hierarchies, as well as for organizations of varying types and sizes. Paradoxically, despite the increasing discourse on innovation, it remains a pervasive buzzword, and the confusion surrounding this concept continues to grow. It is a phantom that everyone discusses, yet very few have grasped its true nature. Additionally, there remains a notable absence of effective and practical learning tools to enhance innovativeness at both individual and organizational levels.

2) Another common factor contributing to the performance and growth of individuals and organizations is Happiness. Although a substantial scientific consensus supports this analysis and despite a recent surge in interest, the process that links happiness and performance remains largely unexplored—especially regarding practical applications.  Simply put, there is still a significant lack of reliable tools to improve individual and organizational performance by harnessing the power of happiness. 

Similar to innovation, happiness has become a prevalent buzzword in various contexts. While conversations about happiness, well-being, and mental health are widespread, only a few truly understand how to precisely define happiness and, more importantly, how to practically leverage it to enhance individual and collective performance.

3) Happiness and innovativeness are like twins, intricately connected by a shared DNA. Indeed, Dr. Rajaa & Dr. Marouane’s comprehensive research has unveiled a striking similarity in the skills that foster both happiness and innovativeness. Focusing on these common skills can boost performance for individuals and organizations, establishing a resilient base for sustained growth. This science-backed insight underscores the potential for a synergistic approach.

After clearly identifying these challenges, Dr. Rajaa and Dr. Marouane decided to practice what they teach and transform these challenges into opportunities. Indeed, these two academics, specialized in innovation and entrepreneurship, decided to put into practice the concepts they teach through their own entrepreneurial project: HELFFE.

The mission was clear: to empower individuals and organizations to nurture a sustainable growth by leveraging on a unique blend of innovativeness and happiness. They worked intensely to find innovative and practical solutions to the challenges they identified.

Thus, they were able to capitalize on a decade of research and experimentation to create a unique, practical, and powerful growth method.
